Sophia the Robot to Give a Presentation in Hanoi Later This Month

Sophia, an AI-equipped social humanoid robot from Hong Kong’s Hanson Robotics Ltd that has been a Saudi Arabian citizen since October 2017, will speak alongside scholars and authorities at an international forum on Industry 4.0 in Hanoi later this month.

Commonly referred to as the 4th industrial revolution, Industry 4.0 refers to automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes the internet, cloud computing and robotics.

Running from July 12 to 13, the forum will consist of five conferences focusing on topics such as smart cities, smart manufacturing, high-tech agriculture and innovative finance and banking, as reported by VnExpress.

Sophia will give a short presentation before answering four or five questions on topics such as automation and the prospect of employment in Industry 4.0, according to TTVN.

The forum will also feature guest speakers from the World Economic Forum (WEF), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the World Bank and Vietnamese ministers, and will be chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Director of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh.

Companies such as FPT, Schneider Electrics, Bosch and Samsung will participate in the conferences, while many technology and AI experts will be among 1,800 delegates invited to attend.
