1,000 Volunteer Opportunities Available for Hanoi F1 Race

Do you know how to determine the weight of a race car?

As Hanoi prepares to host the country's first Formula 1 race next April, Tuoi Tre reports that the Vietnam Motorsports Association (VMA) is looking for 1,000 volunteers to help with the event.

The inaugural Vietnam Grand Prix will be held in the capital on April 5, and both Vietnamese and foreign citizens age 18 and above who are in good health can apply to be a volunteer.

According to the news source, volunteers will be assigned one of 20 tasks on race day, including weighing race cars, cleaning the track, emergency response, firefighting, medical assistance and logistics.

Select volunteers will take part in two training courses ahead of the race, in November and March. They will be instructed by experts from the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.

Volunteers will also receive uniforms, necessary equipment and passes for the race area on the day of the event. Those interested can apply to volunteer through this link, though the page says it is for Vietnamese marshals only.
