Pride 2020: Where Are You? @ Facebook Live

Hanoi Pride is an annual pride event of the LGBTIQ community in Hanoi and neighbouring provinces. Based on the current context, this year’s theme "Where are you?" is a question enabling every silenced voice or unheard stories to come to light, initiating a warm conversation in our community, and encouraging everyone to step up and stand together in unity, especially in such a time of hardship for Vietnam alone and the world as a whole.

In spite of the ongoing pandemic, Hanoi Pride Week 2020 has officially returned and will be held entirely on online platforms, consisting of 2 major phases: the Online Festival on Sunday (20/9) and events in one week from 14 - 20/9/2020.
Despite lacking signature events such as the bike rally and walking parade, Hanoi Pride believes that we can still immerse ourselves in the Pride atmosphere this year with the following special events:

Hanoi Pride 2020 is pleased to invite you to the movie screening and discussion featuring the documentary Chen nuoc trong, the subject of which is about the life of transgender people in the midst of a pandemic. In March 2020, the Vietnamese transgender community faced an unprecedented challenge when the COVID-19 pandemic caused tremendous difficulties to the lives and work of many people. After two months, Jessica Ca - a transgender woman in Saigon - temporarily put off her daily work to start her journey of giving away good deeds, in which she found herself surprised for the things she received in return.
Hau Dong Tu Phu - Practise for Spiritual of Godmother Vietnam
19.30 - 21.00, September 19, 2020 | Facebook & Instagram | No registration required
The ritual of worshipping Vietnam’s mother goddesses is a form of re-enacting the process of the saints’ contribution to building the country, relating to history and real relics that are still passed down until now. Since this ritual is often misunderstood, the project wishes to preserve and develop a national traditional culture through the lense of science, thereby aiming to provide values on gender and human rights, changing misconceptions about religious beliefs and gender identity - for our society to become more open and civilized.
