From the organizer: With the annual, worldwide celebrations heating up for Canada Day, a day commemorating a “special place in hell” for American trade advisors, Stand-Up Hanoi have pulled out the stops and are bringing in not one, but two Canadian comics to celebrate. 

Coming from the country that has produced more great comedians than American dotards can shake a stick at, headlining for the night will be the award-winning comic, Brian Aylward.

Voted Best Standup Comic at the Canadian Comedy Awards in November 2016, Brian’s comedic virtuosity got its first outing just over a decade earlier. Based on a bet, the Newfoundland native and then English teacher stepped on stage for the first time at a rowdy expatriate bar in Anyang, South Korea. Aylward went on to pioneer the active English stand-up comedy scene in South Korea, officially establishing Stand Up Seoul in 2009 and turning the country into a legitimate destination on the international comedy circuit.

Since then Brian has performed in hundreds of shows and a growing number of festivals around Asia and North America, sharing his deepest frustrations with the world through his razor-sharp routines and huge sack of ridiculous stories from his travels.

Supporting Brian on the night will be one of the new faces of Canadian comedy, Mike Lynch. Founder and host of Newfoundland’s longest running weekly comedy show, Jokes At John’s, Mike has been featured numerous times on both regional and national TV in Canada, and has also become an internet sensation, with his work as a sketch comedian on The Outhouse TV (Facebook and YouTube). Most recently, Mike sold out three shows at Holy Heart Theatre in his hometown of St. John's, Newfoundland, selling 2,700 seats total in record breaking time. This is a bright young comedian is not to be missed!
