Garment Girl showcase @ Heritage Space Library

From the organizer: Heritage Space is proud to introduce 'Garment Girl' - an Open Showcase of Los Angeles based artist Jennifer Vanderpool.

Not displaying as a traditional art exhibition, Jennifer's showcase will exposes to public the process of installing artwork in the gallery space: a multi-faceted combination of costumes, wall paintings and photographs. Viewers will be able to directly observe the entire jobs of installing exhibition, and have conversation with the artist for inquiries regarding the show. They will also have the opportunity to be invited to take part in helping some setting up job.

The 'Open' part of the exhibition is the original space of the workshop ‘Remade with Textile & Fabrics' - a program focusing on experimenting and collaborating between Jennifer Vanderpool and Hanoi based artist-fashion designer Pham Hong, and participants from the local community. The workspace is stayed still, exposing both finished and on-going works of: Jennifer Vanderpool, Pham Hong, Vu Kim Thu, Pham Thuy Duong and Mai Ly. Not only bringing to viewer ideas of how each individual questioned and found solution about ‘Remade’ by their own approach, it also reveals the real context of a 'contemporary art studio’ with its dynamic, loose and open.
